Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask about hiding faces and other details in videos. Updated 16 September 2026.
How do I blur faces in a video?
Drop your clip into Blurly.ai, type what should be hidden — for example "every person's face" — and the AI finds those areas across the whole video. You pick how they are covered (blur, pixelate, a solid colour or your own image), watch the preview, and download the finished file.
Does it work on iPhone or Android?
Yes. Blurly.ai runs in your browser, so it works on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop without installing anything. Your video uploads securely for processing.
Can I hide things other than faces?
Yes. Describe anything you want gone — password fields, license plates, addresses, documents, names on a whiteboard — in your own words. The AI looks for whatever you described.
Will the blur follow a moving face?
Yes. The detected areas are tracked from frame to frame, so the cover moves with the person instead of sitting in one fixed spot.
What is the difference between blur, pixelate and a solid cover?
Blur and pixelate hide the detail while keeping the shape of what is underneath; a solid colour or your own image covers the area completely. None of them can be reversed in the file you download — the cover is baked into the finished video.
Can I remove or disguise the sound?
Yes. You can keep the original sound for free, remove it for free, or disguise the voice by shifting its pitch for a small extra fee. Choose the option in the editor — the change is applied to the final file.
What happens to my video?
Your video starts uploading securely when you select it. It is deleted after your download is prepared; unpaid uploads are deleted automatically within 1 hour. See the Privacy Policy & Terms for details about processing and order records.
How long can my video be?
Videos can be up to 2 minutes for now. Longer clips are on the roadmap.
How much does it cost?
Paid downloads start at $4.90. The price depends on the length of your clip, its size and scan depth. You see the exact total before you pay — there are no hidden fees.
Can I use my own image to cover something?
Yes. Alongside blur, pixelate and solid colours, you can upload your own image and place it over the hidden areas.
Is blurring legally required?
Often, yes. In many places a face is treated as personal data, and sharing footage where people are identifiable can breach privacy laws such as the GDPR. Blurly.ai helps you share video responsibly, but you remain responsible for checking that everything you wanted hidden is actually hidden — always watch the preview all the way through.
